May I help you pard ner? he asked.

I hope so, I said. I ve won one of your auctions for a tee time. Here s my receipt thing, and I want to play.

Well, we re glad to have you sir! So will there be four golfers?

Yes, me and my buddies but you re defining golfers rather loosely. We re riding the course on a cart with golf bags, but we re not golfers. A quick chuckle and the pro processed my slip of paper.

John and Cindy

The new, bigger closet he was having built for her would finally allow them to spread out and organize their apparel. His golf shirts wouldn’t be jammed together so tightly that the colors bled. Her skirts wouldn’t be hidden between her dresses and her slacks, and both of them would be able to find their shoes. He’d get rid of the temporary studs-and-cedar plywood closet he’d built in the basement and bring her out-of-season clothes upstairs. He saw it as an opportunity to give their wardrobe a breather.

Retirement. Florida. Golf. Boredom. What do these terms have in common? Not much, according to a mountain of recent studies of the lifestyles and demographics of aging baby-boomers. Today’s “empty-nesters” are a more diverse group then ever before, taking advantage of their newly found free time and discretionary income. They’re changing the way we think about the second half of life, living out their dreams and fulfilling life goals.

The notion that life after the children leave necessarily means loneliness and boredom has been swept away. That myth, it seems, grew from 1960s research on women being treated for depression, according to My Turn, a 1997 book by author Patricia Gottlieb Shapiro. Shapiro researched the lives of 45 women whose children

had “left the nest” and discovered that most felt a sense of relief and freedom. Other scientific studies have found similar results.

Cleveland Ohio is home to some great attractions for tourists and residents. There is the Cleveland Zoo, West Side Market and of course there is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If you have kids there is one more attraction that is just as noteworthy. That place is the Great Lakes Science Center. Read this article and you will see what makes it such a great kid friendly attraction.

The Great Lakes Science Center is located in Cleveland near the lakefront and next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is a 55 million dollar museum that teaches kids about science through the use of hands on interactive displays. There are over 320 different hands on experiments for

children to experience on their visit. For example, there is “The Indoor Tornado.” This exhibit simulates an actual tornado. It stands over 8 feet tall and the kids are able to actually reach in and touch the tornado. Another exhibit is the “Shadow Room” which teaches kids about photoluminescence. Kids can learn why a watch can glow in the dark and how sea creatures are able to see each other in the deep ocean. Of course there is also the “Great Lakes Story” exhibit. It teaches kids about how the great lakes were formed and about all of the different creatures that live in it. They will learn about the area ecosystem and about how fragile it actually is. In addition to these exhibits there are several others to delight and entertain your children. This makes it a must see attraction that any kid will love.
